Authentic period mining equipment was supplied for the production from a variety of sources - the Waikato Coalfield Museum, Huntly, New Zealand Mines Rescue, Runanga and Huntly, Coaltown, Westport and History House, Greymouth. A number of items, e.g. safety lamps were supplied by Harry Bell and Glen Gibb from their private collections. The original exhibits used at the 1967 Commission of Inquiry were kindly lent to the production by the Reefton School of Mines, Reefton.
